Travel

Notes from elsewhere.

Places I have visited, meals I remember, and the small details I wanted to bring back.

  1. Three days in Shenyang, with a visa interview in between

Once the interview was over, I finally had room to notice the morning markets, bathhouses, Xita, and the food.

  2. A family trip to a cooler summer

Waterfalls, fearless monkeys, and weather that made me reluctant to leave Guizhou.

  3. Hong Kong, at my own pace

The first trip left me with a very high step count. The second was much more my kind of day.

  4. Going to concerts

Sometimes on my own, sometimes with friends. Different singers, different company, and a different mood each night.

  5. Chengdu to Chongqing, not quite according to plan

Sold-out tickets, tired legs, excellent noodles, and a birthday away with friends.

  6. Out on the grasslands

Summer ice, my first horse ride, and a few days of discovering how much I had never tried.
